Sneak Peek Baby Class

I was pretty excited to be able to take this newborn care class with Shamara and Ken. I know that I've done this mutiple times myself, but so many things have changed since the birth of my own kids that I thought it would be a great idea to sit in and learn some of the newer ways of parenting. There were a couple of other grandmothers there too, and we had some fun conversations comparing then and now...

You wanna know what one of the BIGGEST BLESSINGS in all of this is... Shamara and Ken are so loving and open to sharing every little step of their pregnancy with me. I will never be able to express in words how much this means to me and how much I treasure each experience I am having...

Here's a little piece of proof that Shamara is growing up ~ when we walked into the class room she picked the very front row to sit in and not because those were the only seats left. Nope there were lots of open seats still, even some in the very back of the room. I looked at her and said, Wow, the front of the class, in school you were always trying to get as far away from the front/teacher as you could get, haha! She just laughed her Shamara laugh but I'm sure there are alot of you out there who know excactly what I'm talking about.

BACK-to-the-Class, it focused on providing us with a preview of "Life with a Newborn." They gave us the information, tools and skills needed to navigate through the baby's newborn period (1st 28 days of life). It introduced us to the joys and potential challenges of early parenting with hands-on activities regarding the basics of baby care. Some of the class topics were feeding basics, diapering, bathing, normal newborn sleep, cycles, and calming the new baby.

Shamara needed a break to check out her phone while Ken took care of the baby...

Ken was trying to insist that Shamara practice breastfeeding... Ken that class isn't for a few days yet.  Haha!
